Montreal International Game Summit 2010

MIGS2010

I gave a talk about the AR Game Studio (a collaboration between Qualcomm/Georgia Tech/SCAD and my professional work at Nohero Interactive and Aura Interactive at Montreal International Game Summit 2010. The room was packed and I got almost 3 times audience from my talk at GDC 2010! The audience was one of the most amazing crowds I ever encountered. I am really glad that AR has gradually getting the popularity (and recognition) it deserves over the last two years. See you again soon beautiful Montreal!

Game Developers eXchange (GDX) 2010

gdx

date

I’ll be giving a talk at GDX 2010:

The Game Developers eXchange (GDX), sponsored by the Savannah College of Art and Design and now in its sixth year, brings together game developers, educators and students. Game development experts share their behind-the-scenes knowledge of the game industry. Participants choose from a variety of sessions in which professionals share what goes into the creation of games.
GDX 2010 offers a mix of game art and game design sessions.

Game art sessions focus on the purely aesthetic angle of game development. Sessions range from the role of cinematic sequences, to the pre-visualization process, to the importance of editing and post-production in games.
Game design sessions focus on entertainment-based technology start-up, designing virtual worlds, augmented reality and immersion, and social platforms. Game writers chime in with the importance of story, script, setting and themes.

We are having a screening of our animated shorts called "Atlantamation".  The animation screening is a culmination of top undergraduate and graduate work from SCAD Atlanta.  The animated shorts will feature the world premier of “Jaguar McGuire (and his Cat)”, a four-minute short film that will have the audience roaring with laughter. The screening will be followed by Q&A with the film makers.

It is a special evening for us, since it is the first time the SCAD Atlanta animation department has screened our work. The feature animated short itself is a HUGE feat, since it has taken a year and over 40 students.  In the hectic student life schedule – this completed work shows their dedication and love of their craft.
